From the 3rd to the 24th of October 2026, the exhibition Demoscene – Algorithmic Art will be open at Oficina de Cultura in Almada, organised by Associação Inércia with the support of the culture department of Câmara Municipal de Almada.

The selection features works from the demoscene that are of both historical and contemporary significance, including some Portuguese-made pieces. The exhibition showcases a variety of computing platforms, ranging from machines such as the ZX Spectrum, the Commodore Amiga, the SEGA Mega Drive and the Nintendo Wii to more modern systems.

The exhibition also features a number of videos explaining what the demoscene is and the work organised by Associação Inércia over the years in promoting it in Portugal. It includes a programme of various social events, guided tours, digital creation workshops and open invitation to all schools to come and discover the digital art culture that is the demoscene.
